This painting series, titled “Our Community”, is the work of Damilare Jamiu Kayinsola. It seeks to evoke feelings of community and nostalgia from shared experiences from dwellers of the city of Lagos, particularly, dwellers of Isale Eko, the setting of the paintings in this series.
As an artist, Damilare aims to show things in plain sight which his audience would ordinarily have been oblivious to, but for his work.
