2024 LIMCAF application opens, themed “Humanism”

Organizers of the Life in My City Arts Festival (LIMCAF) released applications for the 2024 edition as the largest and longest-running annual festival in Nigeria returns in grand style. The yearly art contest is usually hosted to foster artistic creativity though empowering young and budding artists, male and female including persons living with disabilities (PLWD) not older than 35 years.

The theme, ‘Humanism,’ seeks to explore the qualities that make us human. It calls for the spirit of altruism and a determined effort to ensure the common good of all is guaranteed.

The bigger picture

LIMCAF, a special-purpose vehicle for discovering young artists, features exhibitions, lectures, an art and craft fair, and workshops, in addition to the fine art competition.

Former winners

Mr Kelvin Ijiko from Lagos State emerged as the overall winner of LIMCAF, 2023 Edition in Enugu.

Ijiko was announced the winner of the best painting and mixed media (for N500,000) and a double award worth N1,500,000 cash prize.

2024 Life in My City Arts Festival Competition Details

Deadline: The deadline for applications is May 31st, 2024. Works not received ONLINE on or before the deadline will not be accepted.

Eligibility: The festival competition is open to all artistes who will not be more than 35 years of age on October 26, 2024 and who have been residing/working/studying in Nigeria for at least five yers before his/her application.

Categories: Painting/Mixed Media, Sculpture/ InstallationArt, Ceramics, Graphics/ Photography, Digital Art/Video, Textile/Fashion Design and Drawing.

A new category has also been added specifically for female artists, persons living with disabilities, and younger artists.
